Before moving to Sarasota in November of 2013, I lived my whole life in Sioux City, Iowa.  I was raised Catholic, but started attending a Lutheran church in 1996.  I later became friends with a UCC pastor in the Siouxland area, and liked the open mindedness of him and the UCC.

I have three grown children, a son-in-law and twin granddaughters. They all live in the Midwest.

I moved to Sarasota in an attempt to experience a new perspective and escape the Iowa winter, and I’m happy to say, I felt that same open-minded welcome here as I did in with the UCC pastor in Siouxland.  That’s why I chose St Andrew, plus it has great proximity to where I live.  I found it to be a perfect fit from the moment I stepped foot on the campus in December. In addition to the Sunday morning worship, I enjoy attending the Wednesday night Contemplative Service, and the Thursday morning book study group. Add to that now the Mindfulness Meditation group and you can see I am at St Andrew for just about everything they offer.  My service to this church community is as a member of the Finance and Stewardship Committee.
